Construction Payroll Data & Calculations

Paying various pay items to employees when entering a large number of personnel can quickly become a time-consuming process, one that often results in many errors.

Construction companies can automatically capture these additional payment amounts to employees using Digital Time Capture’s Construction Payroll System in a number of different ways. Such additional payment amounts include:

  • LOA or Per diems
  • Travel Allowances
  • Retention Bonuses
  • Safety Bonuses
  • Small Tool Allowances

DTC's Construction Payroll System automatically calculates these pay items and assigns them to employees. These pay items can later be exported to construction companies' payroll systems.

Travel Time and LOA can be entered through the DTC Personnel Tab. Often these types of payments are fixed, and using the Personnel Tab saves the contractor time and money because it results in less key entry and errors. A Double Time, Double Time and Half or Day Rate field can also be added to the Personnel Tab.

Line Items for Construction Payroll

If you would like to add a payment type not in the Personnel Tab, such as a Safety or Retention bonus or if Travel Time or LOA amounts change often, use DTC’s Line Items Tab. The Line Items Tab gives construction companies the flexibility to enter any type of pay item.

DTC Multi Line Entry for Construction Payroll

Instead of manually entering a line item for each employee in the Lines Items Tab, use DTC’s Multi Line Entry function to apply pay items, within the Line Items Tab, automatically to multiple employees with the same amount of effort as entering a single line. For more complex calculations, use DTC’s Line Items Generator.

Line Items Generator for Payroll Calculations

When payment amounts require calculations for Construction Payroll such as a flat rate per hour worked in a pay period, use DTC’s Line Items Generator. The Line Items Generator allows construction companies to pay personnel in varying amounts based on a set of criteria that may require a minimum of hours worked as part of the calculation. Examples could be small tools allowances or paying an additional subsistence amount when a hours threshold is met.
